Girlguiding Leeds Training Application Form 2018
Going Away, Outdoor Skills and Cooking with Limited Resources – Saturday 18th August at Robin Hole – 9.30am to 4pm
We hope to set this day up so that you can come to whichever combination of sessions you wish either attending for the full day or for half a day.
The Going Away training will be from 9.30am until 12.30pm and aims to help leaders understand the process of planning a residential and to provide an introduction to the Going Away Scheme. This session is aimed at those who would like to take their unit away but who have not yet completed their Going Away qualification. We recommend that anyone considering doing the qualification attends a training early in the planning process.
There will be outdoor skills sessions running throughout the day and the aim of these is to give leaders of all sections the skills and confidence to include a wider range of outdoor activities in their weekly programme. We will also explore how the activities fit into the new programme. There are a range of different skills which we can offer sessions in so please indicate on your booking which you would be interested in. If you have a lot of experience in one or more of the skills and would be happy to share this with other leaders, please indicate this on your booking.
The session on cooking with limited resources will run at a time to allow those who want to do this the chance to fit it in around anything else they would like to do (if possible).
The cost of the training will be £5 for the full day or £2.50 for half a day. To allow time for planning, the deadline for bookings is Wednesday 18th July.
We are looking for a Brownie leader and a Rainbow leader to go to the Arts Award training at NEE in York on 6th October, 9.30am to 1pm. If you are interested, please email email@example.com
The Arts Award, in partnership with the Arts Council, is a fun programme which inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents: it’s creative, valuable and easy to do. It can be achieved at four levels:
• Discover (for Rainbows)
• Explore (for Brownies)
• Bronze (for Guides)
• Silver (for The Senior Section)
On 6th October, the Rainbow and Brownie leader will both learn the skills needed to run the Arts Award in their units, with the support and guidance of a trained Arts Award adviser.
