The aim of the weekend is to re-energise and inspire you with new and adventurous programme ideas that can be used both within and outside of your unit meetings.  Come along, meet new friends and enjoy the hospitality of Waddow Hall.

Going Away With Training @ The Trefoil Centre

This session should be attended by anyone wishing to undertake the Girlguiding Going Away With Scheme qualification.

You will be allocated a mentor following this session.

If you would like a copy of the scheme book, the price for the course is £10 (otherwise it is £2.50.)

1st Response is the basic first aid course designed specifically for members of Girlguiding.

The cost of the training includes the participation booklet and Resusci Plus Pack.

This is a full day’s training, please bring a packed lunch.

Safe Space – level 3 @ The Trefoil Centre

COURSE CODE: 11SS

Safe Space level 3 is for anyone leading a team of adults, at least one leader per unit (leader, assistant leader, leader in training), mentors, advisers, coordinators (except GO coordinators), licence holders on residentials, trainers, tutors and those doing level 4.

You’ll learn about:

  • What to do if someone tells you about a concern, allegation or disclosure
  • How to recognise there is a concern
  • How you can support and help someone tell their story safely
  • How to take action and with whom
  • Where to get help

You must complete the e-learning for level 1, 2 and 3 before attending this course.

Volunteer Induction – part 1 @ The Trefoil Centre

COURSE CODE: 16VI

The induction sessions are suitable for all new volunteers (unit helpers, leaders, or those transferring in to other roles) within Girlguiding Leeds.

The purpose of our Volunteer Induction is to:

  • Welcome and offer support.
  • Ensure new members understand how they fit in and what is required of them.
  • Emphasise the culture and the values of guiding.
  • Discuss the structure of Guiding, the policies and procedures/practices that are in place both nationally and at a local level.
  • Clarify the requirements, duties and responsibilities of the role and ensure new volunteers have the knowledge and skills to perform their role effectively.
  • Introduce the Girlguiding programme, its structure and how it transitions across all sections of the organisation.

This is part 1 of a two-part event.  Attendees must attend both parts to complete the course.

Need some help with your Leadership Qualification? Drop in to this session with your evidence and workbook and there will be mentors available to help you and sign off completed clauses.

This session is free to attend, but please let the team know if you are planning on coming along signoff@girlguidingleeds.org.uk – so they can ensure sufficient mentors are available.
